Our Mission Statement
At Journeys CBLS we seek to support children and young people in Tower Hamlets and those significant to them, who are finding it difficult to cope with their experiences of bereavement and loss.
Who is the service for?
Children and Young People, ages 3 to 16 years who have experienced loss, expected or unexpected death of a significant other, terminal illness or degenrative conditions, severe injury, separation or divorce in the family, migration, domestic violence.
Schools that have been affected by the death or terminal illness of a pupil or staff member, or that wish to support pupils with signifacnt loss experience.
Other agencies that seek support or education around issues of loss and bereavement relating to children and young people.
What we provide:
Therapy One to one therapy using crafts, toys, games and other creative tools in our designated therapy room.
Consultancy and Support For parents For professionals working with children, families and school communities For schools and individual staff members regarding critical incidents, terminal illness and degenerative conditions in a pupil or staff member and to support a pupil who is bereaved or experiencing significant loss
Workshops and Presentations On issues relating to bereavement and significant loss: we can provide workshops and presentations for one hour or longer, including inset days. We will create sessions to respond to your particular needs.
Seasons for Growth programme A bereavement and loss education programme of 12 one-hour weekly sessions for a small group of pupils of similar emotional development for those who have experienced death or other significant loss.
This is free service available in Tower Hamlets (donations welcome)
